History: Settled in 1871 and incorporated in 1910, Blue Lake was originally named after a lake that formed by flood waters of the Mad River. In the 1920's the Mad River changed its course and took the small lake with it.

Today: Blue Lake is the home of Dell'Arte Theater. A well-known school which includes the Dell'Arte School of Physical Theater and the Dell'Arte Players Company.
